Journeyman Electrician
Focus on commissioning natural gas turbines in the oil & gas industry
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical installation, testing, and commissioning of natural gas turbines and auxiliary equipment
- Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
- Conduct functional and performance testing of electrical systems to ensure compliance with standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and control system issues during commissioning and operation
- Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other trades during commissioning activities
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation, including test records, reports, and as-builts
Qualifications & Skills
- Journeyman Electrician certification (Red Seal or equivalent)
- 3+ years of industrial experience, preferably in oil & gas, power generation, or heavy industry
- Commissioning experience with natural gas turbines or rotating equipment considered a strong asset
- Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and control systems
- Knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, and protective relays is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance
- Willingness to travel and work in field/remote locations as required
